    the mystery of the ''MSVCP140.dlll'' please help


    Hi, so long story short, I bought The Sims 4 today on Origin. To play it you need to download the launcher, so I tried, but then a message popped up and said something like ''MSVCP140.dlll is missing, delete the program and reinstall it to fix the issue.''
    I did, and it still didn't work for some reason.
    Then I tried on Steam! Same problem. I tried to play another game to see if it happens again, and it worked perfectly.

    So I looked on some websites and found some solutions, but you have to pay for them, I don't have the funds for that.

    What's the issue with the missing file? What should I do?

    MSVCP140.dll is missing in my Win 10

    i have a similar problem i have nero burning rom on and it was running ok but i`ve not used it for a couple off months, and now it will not start and says msvcp140.dll and vcrruntime.dll is missing i`ve tried all your command prompt and none of can you help
    me to sort this out thanks

    The error message Cannot find 'MSVCP140.dll' that you are getting may be due to a corrupted software on the computer. To isolate this concern, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

    • Perform an SFC (System File Checker) scan on the computer. This will revert the system files back to its default state. Please click this
      link and follow the instructions provided by
      ZigZag3143 (MS-MVP).
    • If the SFC scan doesn't work, kindly follow the instructions under DISM found on the same link.
