Windows 10: The password you entered for your device is incorrect. Please try again.

I am trying to sign into my account Microsoft account on my new desktop after my old one was damaged. I have installed windows 10 using the same key as the old system. It accepts my password and email then asks me for my password one more time. It is the second time that it says the password is incorrect. When looking at the troubleshooting this is what it gives me. My hard drive failed and had to get a new one with a fresh install of Windows 10. When I try logging into my Microsoft account it has me enter the user ID then password then asks for my current password again... Every time it gives me the error "The password
you entered for your device is incorrect. Please try again."



I tried via the web and I'm entering the correct id/password, but I can't get into windows 10.

I Googled and the only thing I found was from four years ago if upgrading from Windows 8...which suggested a fresh install. I can't reinstall as I have no disks. I checked and windows is updated to the most current patches.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Password incorrect

How do I get out of safe mode so I can reset my settings?

1. Press Windows + R keys to open Run command.
2. Type msconfig and press Enter.
3. In the window, click on Boot tab.
4. uncheck Safe boot, click on Apply and Ok. Restart

Not sure why it started in Safe mode. May have been out of sync with your phone from prev incorrect password. See if restart fixes. At least, you know what your universal MS password is. *Wink

 

Password incorrect

I am having a issue with signing into my laptop. Everytime I enter my password and hit enter. I get a message that the password I entered was incorrect?

What is the work around for this?
