Windows 10: The "Preview" option for photos from a right click on the image from ANYWHERE, not just...

The "Preview" option for photos from a right click on the image from ANYWHERE, not just explorer is REQUIRED. I use this computer for images. If I don't have that options, Windows 10 is useless to me.


Again, ANYWHERE on the computer, no matter the software, I MUST be able to right-click on ANY image file and have the PREVIEW option. The lunacy of just having a side screen (not a whole screen) in explorer is ridiculous and useless.


So, I have followed both sets of instructions here: https://www.intowindows.com/how-to-reinstall-the-photos-app-in-windows-10/. Nothing, it was no help. That REQUIRED option on the menu is STILL not there. I have words to describe what a **** storm this means to me, but I am trying not to go there.


What else is there? This MUST work. Please help!!!

I suggest you to follow the steps and screen shot and check if you are able to find the option to Rename the files:

• Open the Photo App.
• Click on photo.

Next, Right click on the photo and select the option Open folder.



Once file explorer open, Right click on the photo and select the option Rename.



Now try to rename the photo and check if you are able to do it. Let us know if you unable to find these options.

Thank you for getting back to me, if you read my post I have said I only get 3 options when I right click, they are delete, copy and share

 

Right-Click preview option missing after Win 10 install

There's an easy way to make it work the old way.

Open any folder with an image file - ie *.jpg

Right click on the file, and select "Properties" from the menu.

Under the "General" tab, you'll see an "Opens with" option. Click "Change". In the list of options is "Windows Photo Viewer". Select this, then click "Apply".

This will give you back the right-click Preview option, which works just like it did in Windows 7/8.

To Microsoft: I'm a photographer, who has to deal with tens of thousands of images. If I had to do that silly "Open with" and pick "Windows Photo Viewer", as suggested in another post, every time I wanted a quick look at an image, I'd scream. And the default
viewer only lets you see one image at a time? No scrolling through a folder? Really??? "Collections" are essentially unusable for my sort of work. Thankfully I sorted out how to undo your "better way".
