Windows 10: "The references account is currently locked out", but I haven't logged in with an account...

I was setting up a new laptop, when I added my windows account it gave me an error, I restarted my computer and now whenever I type in my password it tells me: "The references account is currently locked out...", when I check my account on a different device it shows that I don't have any devices.I'd love help troubleshooting this problem.

Reference Account Currently Locked out

Hello,

I am runing into the issues with our work computers where we log out and it 80% of the time says "referenced account is currently locked out and may not be logged on to". This happens the first time we try to login in regardless of just locking the computer or restarting it.

We use this account on 5 computers and recently did a password change and all of this happened afterwards. We also keep getting notifications saying our creditals need to be verified.

How do we stop this from happening?
