    the scam of CTRL-windows- R-

I found an old post about this scam but just wanted to let everyone know this is pretty much active. just received call from "male strong Indian accent" from busy noisy call center reporting to be from windows 10 and telling me my computer "errors" had been sent to them so he wanted me to follow his instructions to "repair it". clearly scam but older folks unfortunately might believe it. call came from +1 800 999 2145.

Apparently the whole idea is to get you to give them access to your computer so you end up having to pay them to fix it or simply buy another computer.

    IT'S a SCAM!

    :)

  2. Ctrl + r key scam

I received a call today supposedly from Microsoft. The noise in the background was very loud. The man I spoke with had a heavy Indian accent. I asked him where he was calling from and he said Vancouver. So I asked him to let me talk to someone who spoke
"Canadian." He put on another man who still had a heavy Indian Accent. They did there best to get me to turn on my computer and hit the Ctrl and the r key. I pretended to do this and strung them along for a while telling them I could only see a black screen.
Finally I told them I had to go that my kitchen was on fire and I hung up. Just another scam.

    Really getting tired of them.
