The screen brightness has to be 75-80% in Windows, where it is 30% in Linux

I need to put the screen brightness to 75-80% in Windows to get more or less the same brightness as in Linux at 30%. This is not only in this laptop, so it is something to do with Windows. I have few Linux distros, Arch, Opensuse, Ubuntu etc, and it is at 30% in all of them. 50% screen brightness in Windows is not enough, not easy on the eyes, so it has to be 75-80%. This looks like a serious bug to me.

    Laptop Lenovo Ideapad S340 14" i5-1035G1 - has an anti-glare screen.

    :)

  2. screen brightness on windows 10

    Hi,

Some computers can let Windows automatically adjust screen brightness based on the current lighting conditions.

To manually adjust the screen brightness, we suggest following these troubleshooting steps:

    • Click Start, then select Settings.
    • Choose System, then select Display.
    • Under Brightness and color, move the Change brightness slider to adjust the brightness.

Feel free to post back if you have other concern.

How to change brightness steps in notification area

I use the notification area to change the brightness of my screen (Toshiba U920T laptop). It has always been 4 steps of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. Does anyone know how to change these steps? I couldn't find anything relevant in the registry.
    Thanks for you help.
