    The search dialog is white but everything else including the search BAR on the taskbar is dark.


    I have tried restarting my PC, changing old personalization settings and uninstalling latest updates, but it did not help. I also could not find "WhiteSearchBox" in my registry.

    Cortana white search bar

    Cortana search bar turned white and is very distracting. "dark mode" color scheme fixes this but makes it hard to see literally everything else related to my computer. Is there a way to change just the cortana search bar?

    When I right click on Taskbar, there is no "Search" in the list.

    This issue might occur if there is change in taskbar settings.

    I suggest you to follow the steps below to show search bar in the taskbar and check if it helps.

    1. Right click on Taskbar.

    2. Then click on Search.

    3. Select Search box from the list.
