Windows 10: the selective line which is supposed to be blue is black for a week now

The selected text is black?

I'm using Word in Office 365, Windows 10. Recently, when I select text, it is highlighted in black instead of light blue. How do I get it back to light blue? I need step by step instructions. Please and thank you!

ROCAW says: If you want to change the color of the highlight from black to blue it will apply not just in the Word app but in all the Windows settings. For this feature,
you will have to the registry which is Windows settings.

I would suggest you to follow the below troubleshooting:

Method 1: Please run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter:

Try the followings steps:

• 
  Click "Search" and type "Troubleshooting" without quotes and hit enter.
  
• 
  Click “Hardware and Sound”
  
• 
  Select "Hardware and Devices"
  
• 
  Click next to run the troubleshooter.
  

Method 2: Install all the patches and available updates from Windows updates.

Try the followings steps:

• 
  Click "Search" and type "Windows update settings" without quotes and hit enter.
  
• 
  Under Updates click on check for updates
