    the server did not register with dcom within the required timeout.


    Window 10 Home:
    Version 1709 OS Build 16299.64
    All available updates applied.

    A day or so after the last MS updates (11-15-17), I received 10 of the following entries (in a row) in the Windows system log.
    My pc became unstable and I needed to log off and back on in order for the machine to function correctly.
    Then, about 4 hours later, the same thing happened.
    I then, restarted the pc and have not had the issue since.

    Event ID 10010:
    The server {d7fd466d-f6cf-4c8e-86dd-12e9b0fdae48} did not register with dcom within the required timeout.

    No additional errors were found in either the system or the application logs.

    Both of the following, ran without issue.
    sfc /scannowDISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    I also run Malbytesware along with Windows Defender.
    And neither of their logs, indicate anything out of the ordinary was found.

    My goal is to figure out the cause of the above error entries and then of course, figure out how to prevent them in the future.

    I am unable to find anything on the web specific to the above GUID.

    Was the above a "fluke", do you think ?
    Or, is should this a cause for concern ?

    Appreciate anyone's thoughts.

    Start, search and task bar not working.

    In System Windows Log are errors such as:

    The server App did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

    The server Windows.Security.Authentication.Web.Core.BackgroundGetTokenTask.ClassId.WebAccountProvider did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

    The server CortanaUI.AppXn73w0hsq3g4wx1h9fhf7q02vw2wta6qc.mca did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

    The server {0002DF02-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

    Thanks for your help and pointers; here again, I proceeded with all steps but there are still 4 DCOM servers timing out at boot time

    • The server {21F282D1-A881-49E1-9A3A-26E44E39B86C} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.
    • The server {4991D34B-80A1-4291-83B6-3328366B9097} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.
    • The server {784E29F4-5EBE-4279-9948-1E8FE941646D} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.
