  1. The system automatically reboots after I boot up and log into my account

CPU and memory have been set to default frequencies not XMP frequencies in the BIOS. The system is Windows 10 22H2 and has the latest updated files installed. The system automatically reboots after I boot up and log into my account. This has been happening for about two months now, and mostly it reboots 10-30 seconds after logging into my account, and sometimes it crashes and reboots when I use my browser to browse the web. The minidmp file is attached.030125-12437-01.dmp

    laptop doesnt boot automatically

    This is what happened.

    1. Did a repair install and later disabled hibertnate in CMD.
    2. Enabled legacy option ROM in BIOS.
    3. After a few times startup ( i used the system in such mode for 5 days), changed boot option back to default.
    4. Vola!! It boots automatically to win10 without any keypress. Tested it with many starts to confirm the same.
    5. Re-enabled hibernate option using CMD and later selected Fast Startup.
    6. System booted normally, without the need for any keypress.

I do not know exactly whether such steps resolved the problem or what else happened, hence cannot suggest above steps.

Many thanks to all members who helped to troubleshoot problems.

  3. How to reboot the system to log-in screen from a non-password protected user account on Windows 10?

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community and being a part of Windows 10.

I understand that you have found out that a restart/ shout down from a non password protected user account will directly reboots to the desktop and not to the log-in screen.

I would like to inform that this feature is by design on Windows 10. I suggest you to provide this as a feedback to Microsoft.

Follow the steps below to write a feedback:

    • Type Feedback in the
      Search
      box on the Task bar.
    • Select Windows Feedback.
    • Click on Add new feedback
      and write your feedback.

Hope it helps. Feel free to contact us for any assistance on Windows Operating System, we will be happy to help you.

The system automatically reboots after I boot up and log into my account

Auto logging into disabled account Windows 10

I was able to fix this by doing the following:

    • Boot up the computer, then kill the power after startup is complete.
    • Do step #1 again. (Two crashes within two minutes after startup will cause Windows to boot into Safe Mode automatically.)
    • You will be forcibly logged in to Safe Mode with the Administrator account.
    • Enable the Administrator account, and setup your normal account as needed.
    • Restart again, you will auto login as the Administrator account (which has now been enabled).
    • Log out of the Admin account, and log in with the normal account.
    • Disable the default Administrator account once again.
