Windows 10: The system cannot find the file specified error when starting bitlocker. Renaming the...

On my Windows 10 system. When I turn on bit locker, error appears "The system cannot find the file specified error when starting bitlocker". I tried to rename the ReAgent.xml to ReAgent.old, tried deleted the file to have it recreated, but error still appears. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Bitlocker: The system cannot find the file specified

I recently decrypted my Bitlocked C: drive, then cleared and reset the TPM and rebooted as instructed.
Now when I tried to encrypt C: with Bitlocker, I receive the error message “The system cannot find the file specified”?

I am running Windows 10 Pro, Version 1809, Build 17763.379.

Please help?

 

Cannot find specified file error — no solution works

Windows Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042

On April 13th, apparently there were a lot of Windows updates (most regarding Office 2010). The following day I started the error message on virtually all of my software "Cannot find specified file."

I know this is a common issue but it's the first time I've ever encountered it. I have tried every troubleshooting step in every forum, YouTube tutorial, and Google search I could find and nothing worked. The last one is from this page: [FIXED] The System Cannot Find the File Specified in Windows 10 Error

In that tutorial, the "Mark partition as active" prevented my computer from booting and I had to repair it to get it working again. The last step "Verify the System Log File to Find the Problematic Driver File" didn't have the "cannot find file" in the folder it said to locate and move.

Finally, I performed a clean install of Windows 10 and the issue persists. Now, I have a computer I can't do any work on (artwork, music production, mixing, mastering, etc) and I'm totally miffed as to how to fix this problem. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

 

Create or rename folder issues - Can't find the specified file.

When I try to create a new folder on my W10 Pro desktop, I get the following error message:

Rename Folder

Can't find the specified file.

Make sure you specify the correct path and file name.

New Folder

Date Created: xxxxxxxxxx

This is followed by:

Rename

The file or folder does not exist.

A new folder is created, but it is always named "New Folder" and when I try to rename it, I get the same sequence of error messages and the renaming fails. I have run these commands:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and sfc /scannnow. No errors are returned. I have also tried some of the online suggestions for changing my anti-virus settings, deleting 5 registry keys, etc. None of it helps, not even uninstalling my anti-virus.

What I find interesting is my laptop has almost the same installation without this problem. Even more interesting is I can access this desktop through my home network from my Android phone using Solid Explorer and from my laptop using File Explorer and create and rename any folder on this desktop computer I choose. From the desktop PC, however, creating folders without error and renaming folders are impossible.

Any suggestions on how to solve this problem are appreciated.
