Windows 10: the text feature in 3D paint does not allow the text that I type to remain after I click...

If you google this issue or read the comments below one of the YouTube videos on the subject numerous other people have had this same problem.I type some text, click outside the text box, and the text just disappears.

Paint 3D Text

Step 1: click the Text tab in Paint 3D

Step 2: On the right pane that appears, under 2d text, click the 3 text 'T' symbol

Step 3: click on the canvas then type your text

Step 4: click outside of the text box

Step 5: use the anchors to adjust the depth and angles

Step 6: to see your 3D text better, click the object then click Edit color, choose a different color.

 

Paint 3D text issues

In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

• What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type winver in Windows search/Run command)
• What is the Paint 3D app version currently installed on the PC?
• What is the file type that you have selected to save the 3D model?
• Where are you inserting the Text and on which app are viewing the model?

Please provide us a screenshot of the issue for further investigation.
Follow the steps mentioned in the
screenshot posted by Shawn 'Cmdr' Keene on Oct 2, 2015 to post the screenshots.) Do not share any personal information in the screenshots.

Meanwhile, we would like you to reset the Paint 3D app and check if you have the same issue.

1. Press Windows + I key to launch Windows settings.
2. Click on Apps and select Apps & feature from the left pane.
3. Scroll down and select Paint 3D app on the right pane.
4. Click on Advanced option and then click on Reset.
5. Restart the PC and then launch the Paint 3D app.

My text keeps disappearing in Paint 3D

I believe there is a bug in the app.

Follow below steps in exact order to add 2D text in Paint 3D app:

1. Close all Photos and Paint 3D apps
2. Open the image in Photos app and click Edit & Create,
   click Edit with Paint 3D
3. From the right side panel click on ellipse button "... " (next to -/+ zoom)
4. Select Reset View and it will set the view to 100% (do not click on canvas yet)
5. Click Text icon from the top bar, then click on 2D
   text icon (below Text panel)
6. Change your font type, size, color,style, alignment & background fill
   from the Text panel
7. From left side of Text panel click on "-/+" zoom out/in
8. Click on desired location on the image canvas, it will open
   dotted text box
9. Type your [text.....] OR press Ctrl+V to
   paste (copy your text in advance)
10. Slowly hover mouse over dotted text box and you will see
    four arrows
11. Click & Hold four arrows to Move and/or
    Rotate text box
12. Click outside of the dotted text box to
    save/imprint the text
13. To add more text, goto step 6
14. Save the image
    

Spent few hours and tested this steps 50+ times and it works.
