    Failed to install on ‎3/‎6/‎2024 - 0x80070643

Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64 based systems.

earlier today 03-06-24 I ran my 1st update & it downloaded 2 updates, 1 for the Definition & 1 for a Quality Update. the Def installed ok, but not the Qual.

here's what happened with the Qual...

It downloaded & tried to install a "2023-10 Update for Windows 10 version 22H2 for x64 based systems (KB5001716) " & got error "Failed to install on ‎3/‎6/‎2024 - 0x80070643"

I believe the trouble is that yesterday I successfully updated the KB5001716 dated 2024-03 & now the updater has an older (2023-10) KB5001716 that it's trying to overwrite the newer one.

I think someone at MS either accidently or purposely put an older update file in the MS Update Queue. How can I remove that file on my side so my Updater won't keep on trying to install it over & over again & failing over & over. The Definition updates work fine. I just need to know the steps to remove either some flag setting or some filename so my Updater will stop trying to install a datewise superceded KB5001716.

Note that the Uninstall Updates in Control Panel won't work because, like so many updates that have been done on my laptop, only a few actually show up in the listing & the one for this update is not one of them.

  4. THE UPDATE YOU PUT ON MY COMPUTER 6-24-2024

Cumulative updates for Windows - May 2024

We have multiple Windows 10 22H2 workstations that do not detect 2024-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5037768). If you run the Windows update list in powershell or click "Check for updates" we see the following:

    KB5037771 134GB Windows 11, version 23H2

The KB listed appears to be related to the 2024-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 11. Why is this appearing on a Windows 10 machine and why won't the Windows 10 machine detect 2024-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5037768)? We have attempted the Windows Update reset script on affected already without resolution to this issue.
