Windows 10: The USB 3.0 asix 1gbit AX88179 ethernet network adapter is not working at full capacity...

my usb 3.0 asix 1 gbit ax88179 ethernet adapter is not working well. if I put type c on one side, it works, but it works with a maximum speed of 340 for downloading and uploading. and if I insert it with the other side, the error "usb device is not recognized" pops up, and the device does not work. moreover, on Linux, everything works fine on this device, it doesn't matter which side I insert type c, it consistently outputs 980mbps for downloading and downloading. I think the problem is in the usb driver but they are all the latest version or in some kind of usb power limitation on Windows

ASIX AX88179 USB3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter not working in USB3.0 port

Following the latest Windows 10 update ( 1803 build 17134.285 ) I notice that my USB3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter is no longer working. It does not switch from WiFi to ethernet in the taskbar when connected.

Oddly this is ONLY happening when I plug it into either of my USB 3.0 ports - it works normally when I plug it into the USB 2.0 port on the laptop.

When I check in device manager there is nothing there under Network Adapters unless it is connected to the USB 2.0 port when I can see it as "ASIX AX88179 USB3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter".

When I plug it into the USB 3.0 it is as though I have not plugged anything into the port. i.e. no Windows sound plays, no taskbar icon for Eject Device etc.

Anyone know if the latest updates have any mods to the USB controllers or something ?

Internet Connection Sharing, ASIX AX88179 (USB to Ethernet) to PS4

Hello, I'm looking for any help or ideas regarding an issue i'm recently having with using Internet Connection Sharing from my Laptop's (ASUS K501UW AB78) Network Connection (Ethernet) to a ASIX AX88179 USB 3.0 Ethernet Adapter for my PS4's Internet connection.

This has worked perfectly fine for 2 years or so. Now I'm suddenly having an issue where I share the internet with the PS4 and it's as if the PS4 is just stealing all of the internet my PC. Usually I can share the internet with the PS4 but still use my laptop to access websites, youtube, etc.

I've tried the most POWERFUL ALL FIX Method: Turning PC off and on again (including power draining)

Updating Windows and Everything it offered: Windows 10 Home Ver. 21H2 OS build: 19044.1766

I've Tried Updating Drivers:

ASIX AX88179 USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter (Driver Version: 2.20.80 (Date 4/22/2022)

Ethernet Network Cable Unplugged Problem

The Realtek USB FE Family Controller description indicates that this is a Fast Ethernet (FE) adapter and not Gigabit ethernet.

Is the adapter branded Realtek? What is the exact model?

The other adapter, ASIX AX88179, is definitely Gigabit ethernet and should work. In any case if both adapters don't even work on another PC, I don't think it's a Windows problem.

Connect via the Realtek adapter then go to Network Connections, right click on the Realtek adapter, select Status, what is the speed shown? Then do the same test but using the ASIX AX88179 adapter. Post screenshots of both connections.
