Windows 10: The usb of my Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop doesn't work

Hi,My keyboard and mouse were working perfectly on my Macbook for some time and last few months with a laptop windows 10. A couple of days ago, the connection started failing and the details were 'USB device not recognised'. Changed the battery of the mouse, and nothing. We decided to try it with another laptop Windows 10. And the same error about ~the hardware not recognising and try again.I believe the mouse and keyboard still work well, and the problem is with the USB. I connected today again to test, and work for a couple of minutes and later shows that error with yellow exclamation mar

I suggest you to get in touch with the Microsoft Hardware
Support to know about the replacement criteria. Meanwhile, you may also go through the
Warranty Limit Manual given under Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop.

Sculpt ergonomic desktop freezes

We understand the concern as you are facing difficulties in connecting the
Sculpt ergonomic desktop set on the new PC.
In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

• What is the Version and Build of Windows 10 currently installed? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)
• What is the make and model of the PC?

Meanwhile we would suggest you to update driver
and check.

1. Connect the Sculpt ergonomic desktop set
   
2. Press Windows + X key
   and select Device Manager from the context menu.
   
3. Spot and expand the “Universal Serial Bus controllers”.
   
4. Right click on the USB Composite Device driver and select
   “Update driver”
   
5. Select Search automatically for drivers. Follow the onscreen steps
   
6. Restart the PC and check.
   

We would also suggest you to refer the methods as mentioned in these articles:

New USB Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop

Hi,

I have the Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop (keyboard, mouse) but unfortunately the USB that I left in my laptop broke off so it doesn't work anymore. Is it possible to get only a new USB or is it impossible to reconnect that to my mouse and keyboard?

In other words: are my mouse and keyboard now useless without USB?
