Windows 10: The WiFi indicator on the system tray shows "No Internet" even though I have been connected...

After the latest Windows 20H1 update, there have been issues like the WiFi indicator showing no internet, even though I am able to browse through the internet. Sometimes, this problem used to disappear by itself it would detect internet connection. But for 2 days, this problem persists. Even on clicking the button, I can see the name of the connection and "No Connection, Secured".

This happens with every WiFi connection and not a particular one. Certain Apps like Spotify do not connect to the internet at all, during such an event.


Things that I have tried:

1 Checking for updates with the Network Adapter

2 Troubleshooting the network adapter Possible Solution of Network Reset is suggested, but this doesn't work

3 Uninstalling and Reinstalling the network adapter

4 Uninstalling the network adapter and reboot.

5 Pinging a few websites by the ping command: Returns response as usual.

6 Switching between networking profiles between Private and Public

7 Switching Random Hardware Addresses on and off


Note:

1 A few times, this gets fixed automatically The "connected" status is shown. But this is very rare. After a reboot, the problem persists.

2 In the properties of the connection, I can clearly see IPv4, IPv6 addresses being set and DNS address being set

Wifi icon not showing up in systems tray

Hi, my wifi icon is not showing up in my systems tray.

(It's not even in the expanded menu, and I have show network icon turned on.)



Additionally, at the network and internet section of my settings page, it says that I am not connected to the internet



Therefore I am unable to connect to a wifi network through the usual route. However, I can connect to a wifi network using the wifi icon on the bottom right in the lockscreen. My wifi is fine otherwise (I can access the internet).

How to I fix this problem?

There's a common problem in Windows 10 where the internet disconnects itself, you get a white 'star' next to the Wi-Fi symbol and no internet access until you toggle Wi-Fi off and on again. However, from your description your problem sounds different because you still have Internet connection and a yellow triangle instead of the 'star'.

I haven't experienced your issue, however there was a Wi-Fi fix in yesterday's Windows Update that may cure your problem, but I can only see the fix listed for 14393 (1607), not for 10586 (1511). You could try updating to 10586.679 and see if it cures it, but it isn't listed as one of the items fixed in the update, it's only listed for machines running Anniversary Update.

  I was not able to work on this issue yesterday ( busy for a 90 year old). This evening I was able to take the steps that were suggested in your email.
  
  When I use “Device Manager” I click “ Network Adapters” I see “ Wifi” but not Eternet in this list. On the “Settings” I click “Wifi” which shows the “On' button.
  

I click” Show available networks”. I wanted to capture the page that is shown, but it will not show. The top line is Network ( connected) but course I have the Ethernet cable connected. Also showing Is Five “ Broadband connections” At the bottom is
“ Network and Internet settings” I hope for your continued help.
