The win10 installation created a clone partition as Disk0 and Disk1.

When I installed win10 to my laptop this happened. The funny thing is I don't have 2 ssd in this laptop. I just have one 500 gb ssd but when I checked the partitions later after installations ıt shows an exact copy with the main ssd with the other showing as unallocated. Is thıs normal. Should I be worried. Do I need to reinstall or is there a way to fix it without reinstalling. Thanks

    :)

    Win10 on Disk1

I am running Win7 on Disk1 rather than Disk0 (Disk0 is not being used but is usable).

My machine meets all criteria for installing Win10 and I would like to install it over Win7, but I am unable to reserve a copy of Win10 and wonder if it is because of the way my system is arranged.

Can DISKPART be used to make Disk1 active system partition and take Disk0 offline when both have System Reserved partition?

I have added a second SSD to my Windows 7 x64 system because DISK0 was acting weirdly. (SMART BIOS said it was "bad" but the SSD manufacturer's disk utility said it was "healthy").

I made a system image of DISK0 and restored that system image onto DISK1. Now DISK0 and DISK1 both have System Reserved partitions. Note that there is also a 2TB "standard" HD with several NTFS volumes which is not shown here:

With DISKPART, is it possible to take Disk0 offline, make Disk1 the active system partition, and reassign drive C: to the 465GB NTFS partition now labeled as disk "I:" ? Perhaps not in that order? If so, could you please give the commands in their proper
    order?

The partitions on Disk1 are "MBR".

    Thanks

Can DISKPART be used to make Disk1 active system partition and take Disk0 offline when both have System Reserved partition?

Thanks for the suggestions. I made the new SSD first in the boot order and now this is the situation:

The "System" label is now on Disk1 first volume, and the Boot, PageFile, Crash Dump, and Primary Partition are there next to it. Drive C: is assigned to that 645GB NTFS partition, without needing to edit the registry. As you said, changing the order in
the BIOS might fix the drive letters.

    So that is progress, thanks.

But Disk0 is still active, not offline. Is there a way to take it offline without physically detaching it?
