Windows 10: The Windows 10 Nightmare and why I reinstalled Windows 7 ...

I found the reactions of some people here very strange. Making fun of other people's troubles (be it over an OS or anything else for that matter) is just silly ... Then again, I expected it ...

 

No we are all here waiting to help you with your problem you have with your Windows 10, because we on this forum care for our members and if you are having trouble between us we can more than likely sort the problems out

 

Hi.. and welcome to the forums..
Keep in mind that not as many people are having the issues that you encountered with Win10. And I'm going to take a stab at this and guess that you're encountering a driver issue and that's causing the problem with the brightness.

But in the end if you're having more success with WIn7 that's good.

 

If you expected that kind of response then why did you start this thread? Honestly you shouldn't take any of those posts seriously and you should have came here sooner with your issues. You would have gotten more help that way.,

 

I merely reacted to someone saying that I myself was the problem ... that's all ... very normal ...

 

Sorry about your problems but for all of us on here windows 10 is running as it should and even my old windows files have gone and I have helped lots of my friends install on laptops and computers with monitors as well the first thing I got them to do was update their computer/laptops with all the latest updates then once installed all the new drivers needed got them from Auslogic and genuine not Microsoft ones and they have been running now for 2 weeks and all report that their systems are stable so to them Windows 10 not a Nightmare but a god send.
One even come from Vista then 7 then 10.
If you need any help when you decide to reinstall windows 10 again we will try and help you but find out if your graphic cards need updating

The errors could have been caused by Win7 drivers, still being used, shouldn't have been, I never experienced this in the preview stage or after RTM*Confused
I use HDMI but leave my graphics card set to it's default, and set color, brightness, and contrast...etc. through my HDTV's setting(my tv is calibrated*Wink)

Question: Did you get your drivers for Win10(or Win8 if none for 10) from your OEM site for your PC's specific model? You would need the graphics and any Ethernet/WiFi ones at the least.

Did you run the Disk Cleanup tool after upgrading(on the HDD)?
Calling Microsoft for anything except for activation, is futile.
Their 1st & 2nd tier call center people have no idea of the OS.

Like I said they have no idea, this is not true.

Lex I don't think your Asus N71Jq is compatible with Windows 10, sorry. I went to ASUS to see about drivers and got this on the OS dropdown:



There isn't even any drivers for Windows 8(my ASUS X54C was a Windows 7 sp1 laptop, but I could get Windows ( drivers for it)

 

You assumed that I wasn't here earlier, because you thought I was some windows 10 hater, who just wanted to put a flame post on here - right ? Sorry, but you're wrong ...

Yes it could be that there are driver issues, but I had tried all versions and the issues were so random and strange that it just didn't work out ... My goal, by posting my experience, was to give others insight.

Also, I am running windows 7 again right now, so I am not looking to resolve any more issues with windows 10 ... If you had read the final part of my post, that would be clear too ...

As far as my reaction goes about all the 'silly' replies to my post ... yes, I expected that to happen when I noticed that I accidentally hit submit (probably with my had on the pad, because I reached for something - it can happen) and right after that the computer rebooted. Why did I expect that ? Well ,because it's human nature to be that way. Did it bother me ? Not really, but that doesn't hold me from saying what I want about it ...

Alright then, I personally don't care if you came here to rant, you're allowed to if you're having issues with WIn10, I have done this at times. The Ok was just a way of saying that I don't care about your comments aimed at me, I didn't mind them but I don't want to get into any discussion that might get nasty for any reason.

And I made a solid recommendation that the drivers for your laptop are not working and from the post by @Cliff S I think that there aren't any that might cut it for Win10. SO sticking with Win7 is your best bet for the time being.
