Windows 10: The Windows taskbar is hanging and not responding.

I am currently using Windows 10 Enterprise Version 22H2 OS Build 1905.4561, and it frequently hangs on screen. When I open an application that is minimized in the Windows taskbar and click on it, the mouse cursor changes from an arrow to a loading circle. I have to wait several minutes for this to disappear. After a few minutes, the hanging happens again. This issue occurs all day and disrupts my work, making it difficult to click on minimized applications. To resolve this issue, we suggest that you run the Network troubleshooter. The Network troubleshooter can help diagnose and fix common connection problems. Kindly follow the steps below:

• In the search box on the taskbar, type Identify and repair network problems, and then select
  Identify and repair network problems from the list of results.
• Follow the steps in the troubleshooter and see if that fixes the problem.

We recommend that you try the steps on the Update the network adapter driver,
Run the Network troubleshooter followed by networking commands, and Use network reset to reinstall network devices sections.

Before assisting further, I would like to ask you few questions:

• Did you make any system changes prior to the issue?
• Did you install any applications downloaded from internet on your PC?

You may be facing the above issue due to the presence of virus/malware or due to any of the third party software installed on your PC.



Method 1: I suggest you to scan your PC for virus/malware by running the Windows defender software. Run the anti-virus software twice to detect and confirm any malware/virus on your PC and check if the issue is resolved.



Method 2: If the issue persists, perform
clean boot by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.



Putting your system in Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.



You can open the system configuration window in Windows 10:



a. Using run command.

• Press Windows Key + R keys on the Keyboard.

• Type msconfig.msc and press
  Enter.

b. Using Cortana.

• Press Windows icon key on the keyboard and type
  msconfig.

• Select the top most search result.
