I received this error when trying to un-install google chrome as i noticed a extension to my browser that i think might be a virus infact i think it has spread as its also on microsoft edge its name is "PicoQuasaren" can somebody please help?

Installer program problem

I am running Windows 7, 64 bit. Trying to download iTunes for PC, but get a message that there is a problem with the windows installer package, and one of the programs required for the installation could not be run. It suggested I contact my "support personnel
or package vendor."

Can anyone suggest something I can actually do? Thanks!

(Not sure if this problem should be labeled a program problem or performance/system failure. Will go with program for now and hope for the best!)

I tried your suggestion and turned off the iolosystem shield an ran the installation again. The Infection Blocked message went away but the Windows error message still came up.: "There is an problem with this Windows installer package. A DLL required for
this install to complete could not be run." I also ran the "Unregister Windows Installer" and then "reregister Windows Installer" I also ran the installer as Administrator. I have installed other complex programs with success. Cerious Software Support insists
that it is a Windows installer problem. Is there a way to just re-install the Windows installer package?
