  1. There is a weird wifi signal around my laptop. How to turn it off?

    I have a acer swift 5 laptop with windows 10 home. It has wifi and mobile hotspot. When I connect the laptop to a wifi. My phone shows another wifi signal around the laptop named "DIRECT-VHMANUSHA-PCmsXJ". My laptop doesn't show this wifi. But other devices around it shows. Which means it is coming from the laptop.

    I cannot connect to this wifi because I don't know password for it - I tried different passwords nothing works. This wifi only shows when laptop's wifi connection is turned on and the mobile hotspot is turned off. When I turn the mobile hotspot on the wifi disappears. Does anyone know what is this mysterious wifi is?

    Is there a way to turn it off?

    It doesn't bother me but it might be draining the battery and it shows my name on it.

    :)

    Windows 10 wifi not turning on Acer Aspire laptop

    In order to get the list of available wireless networks, you have to:

    1. Switch on Connect to suggested open hotspots (see the screenshot in question);
    2. Click on Wifi icon in the right corner. Now you have your networks back.

    After that the parameter from Step 1 can be turned off, networks will be listed normally after restarting Wifi.

    P.S. I feel rather stupid at the moment. I thought that open hotspots are passwordless hotspots and so are presumably not very safe. So of course I've turned that off during installation.
    Really hard to see any logic in this case.

  3. Not listing all the wifi signals available

    I recently upgraded to windows 10 from 8.1. I use an external wifi adapter in my lenovo z570 laptop. I am able to connect to a wifi network but my laptop is not listing all the wifi signals available so that i can choose which one to connect. But it automatically
    connects to one particular wifi nerwork. Where to find the list of networks available ? It was fine 8.1 but the problem appeared in win 10.

    Configure AP Mode with Same SSID to extend WiFi signal

    I disable the wireless signal on the motorola and like you say, I can't connect to my netwotk, I can see the SSID but it says no internet secured. and it's weird, I notice that only my cellphone and my laptop is connected to the wifi (AP working), but my other devices, tablets and laptops are not connected to the wifi.
