Windows 10: There is just problems all over the place.

First, I need to know how to go into the registry and permanently prevent anymore updates to my machine. As in EVER. I know that it can be done through registry and I want to make it a final thing as in there won't be some magical resurrection for a security update that also happens to install some stupid game or takes away a program that I USE ALL THE TIME. I need to stop it completely for the rest of the life of this specific machine. I'm fully aware this is not suggested but I am also fully aware that Microsoft doesn't listen to the people who are telling them to get their damn hands out of

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.

 

Market Place update problems

We've encountered this problem before and Microsoft Support offered a solution ( deleting the app, removing the battery
for 30-60 seconds and then reinstalling the app is what worked for me):

For the symptoms you are describing, I would suggest the following steps:

• Delete the app from the Phone by tapping and holding on the app and then tapping “delete”.
• Go back to Marketplace and reinstall the app.

If that doesn’t work:

• Turn off the phone, remove the battery for 30 - 60 seconds, replace the battery and restart the phone. Removing the battery may not be absolutely necessary but I don't want to tell you to try it later
• Repeat the first 2 steps above.

Market Place update problems

Thanks Julie.. Just one question before i delete the apps - a couple of them are "paid" apps - if i delete and re-download will i get charged for the app again ?
