Hello. You are gonna have to calm down. Believe it or not, no one here works for MS or has any association with MS. We are just users helping users as best we can and volunteering our time. It is a flawed system in that respect but unless you want to pay
$$$ for "genuine" MS support, it is reality.

I totally agree with you that the Click to Run version's inability to sync is not well documented and is usually learned the hard way. Your frustration is warranted but you will get better answers if you tone it down and get the right people to see it.
The answers forum has alot of sections dealing with different products and most people only stay in the areas they feel competent to support. So I would urge you to post here:
Results in Office - Microsoft Community

which is the Office forum for installation/activation issues.

If you did buy from Microsoft store, I did find some email info here:

OK, I re-installed Office 2010 with the non-Click-to-Run version, and now, after great research and effort on my part, the WMDC will sync.

However, now the newly installed Office 2010 will not "Activate" and gives error (0xC004C032). Additionally, the "Reply" & "Forward" buttons are grayed-out.

I've wasted days on this problem, what a heaping load of BS. A big company like Microsoft should be able to write better software and support it too.

    What now???

Yes, I have that too, but only on my old Surface Pro1.
    Go figure.

Don't have that on my Surface 3 and other laptops.
All my Windows tablets and laptops have WLM 2012 installed and it is my default in all my computers.

I just ignore it because it has no ill effect on my WLM.

  6. Hi jalea148.
Could you please expand on your opening statement "email installed and set as default mail program".

Did you install an email program like outlook or thunderbird. What did you set as default mail program, "Mail", something you installed or a browser.

Have you tried the Clean boot process to see what is generating?

Have you looked in event viewer or reliability history when this message occurs to see what is generating?

You will have to look at your installed Applications, particularly what they put in at startup, and at various scheduled intervals.
Windows 10 does not come with a Mail Client that understands certain protocols.

If you have installed another Mail Client that also may not understand the protocol or you have not set the protocol to the Email Client, whatever that might be.

Might also look in Control Panel, Internet Options and the Programs tab, may be a way to set it as desired. It was easy 'back then' with Outlook Express or with any installed Outlook. A lot of the problem is how programs are written to connect to installed programs, sometimes don't work with third-party software.

  11. I might head into the Apps in settings, then default apps, "Set defaults by app" and find Thunderbird. Make the associations.

If you start Control Panel through run, the User Accounts what is listed under Mail?

I'm sure what you mean re User Accounts what is listed under Mail. There were no mail references. Same with Set defaults by app.

  13. there is no email program associated to perform the requested action

At the bottom of the right side there is a heading "Set defaults by app". Through this feature you can ensure all email file associations are set to Thunderbird.
