  1. There is something wrong with my mic after using an amplifier.

This problem started after I unplugged my amplifier, called the GSX 1000 and got it ready to be sent back to amazon for a refund due to the very poor audio quality, bass and volume. after I plugged in my gsp 500 with its 3.5mm jack, the sound coming from the gsp 500 was fine. however, the mic for the gsp 500 wouldn't work and instead, windows would use the mic that's built into the laptop instead of the mic that the headset has. after looking into the sound setting, I noticed that there was 2 devices in the playback settings, one called "speakers" and another one called "headphones"? before I got the gsx 1000, the headset would be listed as a speaker in the playback setting and the mic worked just fine, I'm not sure if this contributes to the problem but I'm listing everything that has happened after I removed the gsx 1000. I would appreciate an answer to this problem as i have been trying to find a solution for 3 days.

    :)

    USB Mic Problems.

The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

    Hi,

Thanks for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

This might occur when some of the mic setting got corrupted.

I would suggest you to try running Recording audio troubleshooter.

    Follow the below steps:

    • Type Troubleshooting in the Search area on the taskbar and select
      Troubleshooting.

    • Select Hardware and Sound.

    • Select Recording Audio under
      Sound
