  2. Disable Windows 10 Alt+R and Alt+S

Just upgraded to Windows 10. Have some new keyboard shortcuts (Alt+R and Alt+S that bring up the "Run" and "Start Menu Settings" windows, respectively).

Unfortunately these shortcuts are the exact same needed by various MS products (e.g., Excel) in the "Find and Replace" window for "Replace All" (Alt+A) and "Replace" (Alt+R).

It does not seem as if these shortcuts were coordinated very well across the halls of MS OS and Apps.

Anyway, PLEASE, is there a way to make it so Windows 10 does NOT respond to any shortcuts OTHER THAN the Windows Key (which would have been the logical place to put ALL keyboard shortcuts). I have numerous macros that rely on these Keyboard shortcuts that
    Windows 10 has confiscated.

    Thanks, Kevin

  3. Screen Orientation Hotkey in Windows 8(.1) and Windows 10

    Hi,

Thank you for giving us an opportunity to assist you with the query.

You may rearrange the screen by pressing the “Alt” + “Ctrl” + “Up Arrow” keys on the keyboard simultaneously.

  6. Thanks Borg 386. *Smile

    That article was strangely written.
"Windows key + Left Arrow" and "Windows key + Right Arrow" exist in W7.
They are the Windows-related keyboard shortcuts that I use most often (I use them multiple times per day).

It reminds me of all of the W8 articles that pretended that pressing the Windows key and typing the name of a program was a new W8 feature.

I was wondering if there were shortcuts for the new snapping combinations.
I'll have to try "Windows key + Up Arrow" and "Windows key + Down Arrow".

  7. For the lazy ones, heh:

Snapping window: Windows key + Left or Right — LeBlanc says: "(Can be used with UP or DOWN to get into quadrants.)" Quadrants is the new Snap view mode that pins apps to the four quarters of the screen.
Switch to recent window: Alt + Tab – LeBlanc says: "Hold shows new Task View window view, let go and switches to app."
Task view: Windows + Tab – LeBlanc says: "New Task view opens up and stays open."
Create new virtual desktop: Windows key + Ctrl + D
Close current virtual desktop: Windows key + Ctrl + F4
Switch virtual desktop : Windows key + Ctrl + Left or Right
