Windows 10: Thinkcenter bluetooth issue on Win 10

Hi


Bluetooth is not working on my new machine.
It's a lenovo thinkcenter m75q-1 with the intel wireless card.

Wifi is working fine but bluetooth isn't. I can turn on bluetooth and use wireless mouse and keyboards with receiver but when I try to search for a new device, nothing comes up.

I have tried installing drivers from both intel and lenovo sites, troublsehoot from the windows settings and reinstall drivers from device manager as well.

Even though the window troubleshooter shows its fixed, its not.

Please help.

Bluetooth in windows 10

My computer specs are as listed in the profile. I think all of you guys are correct. I don't have built-in Bluetooth in mobo.

I contacted skull candy headphones and thy have told me if I do not have built-in Bluetooth, I would need a dongle which supports at least a2dp. I do not know what the heck that means. I have a feeling I would need more than a cheap dongle.

Anyone suggest some a2dp adapters. I searched but don't know what a2dp is so couldn't make a decision

Method 1: Troubleshoot

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with device. Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
• Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.

Method 2: I suggest you to update the Bluetooth drivers from the manufacturer web site. If the issue persist uninstall and reinstall the drivers.

• Right-click the Start menu, and select Device Manager.
• Expand Bluetooth
• Right-click on Bluetooth Radio and select
  Update Driver Software…
• Select Search automatically for updated driver software

Note: You can also check your computer manufacturer’s support website for Bluetooth driver packages for your computer that are compatible with Windows 10.

I would suggest you to try the steps given below and check if it works:



Install in compatibility mode:

Download the Bluetooth drivers from the manufacture's website for Windows 10. If it’s not available, follow these steps to install the Bluetooth drivers in compatibility mode and check.

• Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.
• Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.
• Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
