Windows 10: Thinkpad E580 VERY SLOW after using a wrong charger

My laptop, Thinkpad E580, has been painfully slow after I charged it with a charger that was designed for an external monitor I know, not the smartest move. Now everything is lagging and it takes ages for to do anything. I am curious if any hardware might've been damaged or if everything is fine but the cpu/gpu is stuck in a kind of a "safe mode". If latter is the case, I believe I need to go into BIOS or whatever is necessary but I don't want to mess anything up while fiddling around in there. I'd appreciate the help in making the changes so I can use the laptop at the speed it

Thinkpad T510 is bricked after entering PIN in setup

I bought it from a reputable dealer on eBay on July 6th. No history given, except the dealer formatted theHD and tested everything. The listing says No Returns. But he may be open to an exchange. LENOVO THINKPAD T510 15.6” i5 M520 2.40ghz 4GB Ram 500gb HDD DVD RW W/ Charger | eBay
Before I press for that I'm going to try the steps you've suggested further down in this thread.

 

Win 10 , Lenovo E580 ThinkPad, Fingerprint has stopped working, can not set new

Let's try Uninstall the Fingerprint Manager and Re-enroll the Fingerprints.

To uninstall the Lenovo Fingerprint Manager Pro or Lenovo Fingerprint Manager, and then re-enroll your fingerprints. Follow the steps below:

Step 1. Open the Control Panel and find Programs.

Step 2. Click Uninstall a program under the Programs.

Step 3. Find Lenovo Fingerprint Manager Pro or Lenovo Fingerprint Manager in the program list, and then right click it to uninstall it.

Install Synaptics Fingerprint Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - ThinkPad E480, E580 from official Lenovo support site:

Restart your device and follow this steps to configure your fingerprint:

Step 1. Click the Start button to open the Settings.

Step 2. Select Accounts in the Settings.

Step 3. Choose "Sign-in options" on the left. Scroll to Windows Hello and click Set Up in the Fingerprint section.

Step 4. Click Get started in the Windows Hello setup.

Step 5. Enter your PIN.

Step 6. Put one of your fingers on the fingerprint reader to scan it.

Step 7. Choose Add Another if you want to repeat the process with another finger, or you can choose to close the program.

Notification of slow charger detected on Microsoft Lumia 640xl

• I tried using another charger of Microsoft Make and even my lenovo Power bank but the error persist saying slow charger detected.
• Windows Version: 1607 (Windows 10)
• No other error message apart from slow charger detected. The phone works very well except for charging issue.
