    Thinkpad gen8 xi Secure Wipe


    I resetted my laptop and performed a secure wipe on the laptop because I was giving the computer to one of my colleagues. As of now, I'm stuck at the boot menu. How can I download or add an operating system to make it functional again?

    That made me so facepalm. Some people have absolutely no clue. I hope they don't take you for granted with all this you're doing for them.

    SonicWall is a good security product, so Mindweaver's suggestion sounds like a good one and should make for a rather bigger baby step. Let's hope they take it.

    Need a secure wipe on an HDD before selling, ideas?

    Hello all. I have a 4TB IronWolf NAS drive that I am going to more than likely sell. However, before doing so I want to make sure that it is secure and everything is actually wiped and can't be recovered.

    Is there a way to do this or is my best bet to just keep the drive or have it shredded? If I can securely wipe it, recommendations of programs to do the job?

    Sorry for the possible dumb question, never wanted to a truly secure wipe before!
