    Thinkpad P51 windows 11 upgrade.


    According to Microsoft, Thinkpad P51i7-7820HQ is supported while my Thinkpad with Xeon E3-1505M v6 is not supported. The i7 was launched in Q4-2016 while the Xeon chip was launched in Q1-2017. Both are Kaby lake processors, with Xeon technically more latest than i7 than why the hell one is supported and the other isn't. This is so stupid. My laptop has a TPM 2.0 chip, secure boot with hyper-v for virtualization, and 32 GB ECC ram. the only thing the "PC Health Check" app says is your CPU is not supported while everything else is there.     UserBenchmark Results Question Thinkpad P51?

    So another user ran UserBenchmark a tool I was unfamiliar with (thanks u/Wellas) and my results came back slightly better then his though gaming was abysmal which I kind of expected but no matter to me since I do not even play solitaire : )
    What was a bit more disturbing were the results of the Samsung SM961 NVMe PCIe M.2 256GB (pic 2) and in particular the results from pic 3 regarding the RAM Samsung M471A1K43BB1-CRC 2x8GB.
    Before I go GOOGLING myself into a fray any insight would be appreciated particularly the memory results indicating, "ensure that a dual+ channel XMP BIOS profile is enabled." What's that about.

    Solved on Lenovo Thinkpad P51 with Windows 10 64-bit Version 1809

    I had the problem in August/September 2019 on a Lenovo Thinkpad P51 with Windows 10 64-bit Version 1809.

    Using the Lenovo Vantage utility, under My Device Settings > DIsplay & Camera, I turned of the Color Temperature in Eye Care Mode, and set the Daytime Color Temperature to bright, and the screen captures now work without tinting the screen shot.

    That did not fix the problem in my case.

    I found a solution for my case: Disable one of Windows services or System Interface Foundation. It appears for Lenovo machine.
