Windows 10: Third monitor/TV doesnt turn off on PC

Hi, I bought a TV some time ago and wanted to connect it to my computer, but after turning off the TV the computer still thinks the device is connected. I wanted to solve this via win+P, but it doesn't offer me exactly what I need. I can either just use my main or secondary monitor and TV, which I don't exactly need. I need to switch between mods of the computer with the main and secondary monitor, and the TV. Isn't there some way to do this other than fiddling with it every time in windows settings, like some software or in windows itself using some command? Thanks

No display on monitor when TV set as primary display

Issue solved

Removed DVI/HDMI cable from computer and monitor

Step 1: Check if the VGA monitor cable is defective.

1. Turn off computer
   
2. Connect the monitor VGA cable from the monitor to the VGA port on the computer
   
3. Turn on computer, VGA monitor cable is good.
   
   Step 2: Tun off computer
   

1. Connect HDMI Cable to HDMI port and TV
   
2. Turn on computer and TV, there is no monitor black screen
   
3. Click on the Windows logo, select the Settings icon , and then select
   
   System. Under Display there are two squares, labeled 1 and 2
   
   D Click on Advanced Display Settings:
   
   Display information: Display 1- Monitor Display 2 -TV
   
   E Right-click the Speakers icon in
   the taskbar, select Sound, click on Playback devices,

pc doesnt detect second monitor (tv)

I have updated my drivers and done everything i could find on the internet to solve this problem. My pc is not detecting any kind of second monitor. When i go to device manager and press and expand display adapters it also doesnt show my second monitor. I have to say my second monitor im trying to use is a Tv but ive used it before as a second screen on my laptop. How do i fix this for my pc?

 

Reproducible Windows crash when using a TV as a second monitor and changing settings while the TV is off

To clarify, this is a PC connected to two displays, a PC monitor and a TV. The issue occurs when modifying the settings for the TV while it is off (but still reported as on by Windows while it's performing automated maintenance tasks). The issue is unrelated to being connected to the PC via DP or HDMI on the PC side. The TV, like almost all TVs, doesn't have a DP input.

If only the TV is connected then it's not possible (or at least VERY difficult) to follow the steps, since the TV display has to be off for the steps to be performed. Unless the user can find a way to change the display settings without seeing the display this is not possible.

Again, the steps are turning on both a PC monitor and an OLED TV, extending the desktop to BOTH, then turning the TV OFF and while the TV is off but still displayed as being ON in the Windows display settings using the still connected PC monitor to modify the TV settings (for instance by disabling it or changing it from primary to secondary status). This causes either a crash or a hard lock on the entire computer, so it forces a power cycle.
