Windows 10: THIS is ridiculous. LOCKED OUT OF MICROSOFT PROFILE FOR UNKNOWN REASONS, CANT INSTALL...

you read that correct. i took this piece of junk into a computer shop to get it fixed, and it keeps coming back with MORE PROBLEMS. for instance, i have to redownload everything again which i was informed about, yet wasnt given a password or anything to the actual computer itself. not only that, but now whenever i try to type in the password i MANAGED to figure out myself, it says "cant do that, locked out of account" not only this, but my windows wont even allow me to ACTIVATE windows without inputting my password for that account that locked me out for SOME apparent reason.WORSE yet, the guy

BSOD Unknown Reason

The dump file on the 18th was caused by Quick Heal again. The later ones appear to be due to bit flips. I would recommend enabling Driver Verifier on all third-party drivers using the following instructions: 1) Search for verifier using the Start Menu and select the verifier.exe, accept the UAC prompt and you should be presented with the following screen:

2) Tick the following options as shown below

3) Ensure that you select the option to enable you to select drivers yourself

4) Select all drivers which are not Microsoft related and then click the Finish button. Afterwards, please reboot the computer and Driver Verifier will continue to run in the background. Please do not select the drivers which are prefixed with dump_

 

Ridiculous installation requirement


@whs, what you have experienced is due Two-Step verification which you have turned on. It is of course up to you alone if you decide to use this added security feature or turn it off. This screenshot from MS account's security options page:

In my case, I have Two-Step verification on with a secondary email address, a mobile phone number and the Microsoft Authenticator app installed on my Windows phone. In my case when installing Windows and using an MS Account for initial sign in I will get this:




If I have no access to my Windows Phone or for another reason want to use an alternative method, I can select phone or email:




Conclusion: You will only be asked the security code sent by email if you have set up the Two-Step verification feature and email is the only option (you will not use the Authenticator app nor have you given a phone number in your MS Account security settings).

Thanks Kari. That is a very nice explanation of the options. But I did not turn on any 2 step verification. I just threw in the .iso and installed. It must be the default setting. The secondary email does not help the guy who has only 1 PC and nothing else.
