Windows 10: This latest release for Windows 11 defaulting to top of list selection for Background in...

Every time I start my Windows 11 laptop or switch to a separate Windows 11 session two of the Background setting options are being reset. 1 In the "Personalise your background" the option that is at the top of the list is defaulting each time I start my laptop. In this case "Picture" but my preferred option is "Slideshow". Last year this began to happen after one of the Windows updates. Previously my Windows setting always retained my preference but then it stopped. Wallpaper (background) color

Hi Aaron,

I realize that the background color changed from blue to black. I will try to help you with this issue.

  Did you make any changes to the PC prior to this issue?
  

Close all open windows, restart the computer once and then login to the computer to check if that helps.

Further you may also want to ensure that default theme is selected. Follow these steps:

Explorer Move to top on List with Background-Slideshow

Is it a bug?

If the File-Explorer is open it "refresh" to top on list, if the Desktop-Background-Slideshow is turn to on, on each slide.

Can't select top rated photos for desktop background

In the previous version of Windows, I was able to select "top-rated photos" to use as my slideshow for my desktop background. But now, I am only able to select one folder, and it shows any photos within the folder. I only want the top-rated photos to
show as the background. Is the "top-rated photos" no longer an option? If it is not, any other suggestions to work around this?
