Windows 10: this "Let the app change my printing preferences" suck

this "Let the app change my printing preferences" simple setting by M$ has confused users than doing anything useful.why can't just let users choose the printing setting directly from the dialog provided by the printer?stop wasting the resources to take over the printing dialog box from the printer.and nobody knows which exactly the settings will be used for the output.let the original dialog box from printer driver do their job!

Change Preferences in Print

How do I change Print Preferences? Sending a document to print, there is no option to choose
color print. I need to be able to choose if I want just black or color.

The printer is not the problem because:

• The HP Printer will print color if I'm sending from a website or a screen shot.
• When choosing to copy from the printer's screen, I can choose color.

Any additional thoughts here? I have several users, some using full HP software suites, some using default Windows drivers for the device. I can provide a scenario for just about any connection type to the device, but this is not applicable to the original question. The root question is... Is it possible to permanently turn off "let the app..." toggle?

All printing preferences for the device have been set and the device should always be printing portrait, black and white unless the user changes these settings manually. User opens file in Acrobat, Word, or any other print capable program and the settings are correct. The defaults work in all programs, save for images opened in Microsoft Photos (2021.21090.10008.0 in this example). The reason for this is the "Let the app change my printing preferences" being ticked on by default. If it is not ticked on, all works as prescribed. Having said that, (and believe me I know how petty this is. I am asking to not have to click one slide toggle that takes all of a millisecond. but I have had multiple requests...), In any scenario, is it possible to permanently uncheck "Let the app change my printing preferences" in Microsoft Photos, or is the best option to move to another program for printing jpgs?
