  1. This morning, all of a sudden, my "Antimalware Service Executbale" is using 80-100% of my CPU

The tab under it says its the "Microsoft Defenders Antivirus Service". This happened all of a sudden and in the pass too stopped when I restarted my whole OS. Why is this happening and how do I make it stop?

    :)

  3. Antimalware Service executable is taking 80% or more of CPU for days !

    Hi,

The last week, every day, the Antimalware Service executable is taking 80% or more of CPU, all the time I am using the PC.

I do not think it is scanning, because in its report in Windows it says that there are no threats and that the last exam was already finished.

What is going on ? I cannot work with the PC behaving like this !

I do really appreciate help, please …..

    Thanks!

    Antimalware Service Executable High CPU

I am experiencing high CPU usage on the Antimalware Service Executable on my Surface Pro i7 1 tb (2017). This has been going on for a couple of months. It makes my computer almost unusable. The CPU sits at 100% any time I try to use it. The CPU has
over 50% usage when nothing is being run in the foreground all the time (24 hours a day). The April update was just installed and the Antimalware Service Executable is still running at over 40% of the CPU utilization.
