    Hi,
    I just bought a brand new SSD drive for my old laptop MSI GE600, replaced it and everything looked fine in BIOS until I booted from my USB drive with Windows 10 on it. I get a message that my PC needs to be repaired with error code 0xc0000098 and information that my system registry file is missing or contains errors which considering the drive is empty is an accurate description however I would like to perform a clean system installation and not repair. The only options I'm given on the screen is "Try again" which is as useful as it sounds or "F8 for Sartup Settings" both of which just refresh the error message. Honestly this is the first time I've come across such error and I'm not even sure how I'm supposed to get to the installation screen?

    Your PC needs to be repaired. A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed.

    So, I reinstalled windows 10 on my Asus L402S, but after my second boot I face a blue screen saying that my PC needs to be repaired and that a required device isn't connected and so on.

    I don't know what to do.

    I would really appreciate any help.

    If you are booting from the USB drive rather than the SSD drive and the error shows, then the USB drive content must be at fault rather than the SSD drive? Unless I am misunderstanding something.
    Is the USB drive actually bootable? Does it contain the Win 10 install files as created by the MS utility when you downloaded it?

    I wasn't using MS utility to create the bootable drive because I had problems with it booting on my other laptop and I used UltraISO. Actually now that you mentioned it it makes sense the error pertains to the USB drive rather than my SSD ... I will try to make the bootable USB again using command prompt.

    ed. it works, I guess UltraISO corrupted the files while copying them..
