Windows 10: This PC\Documents does not equal users\username\Documents

Using Windows 10. My Windows 10 computer user account is the same as my Hotmail account, which Windows really really wants you to do when you set up a new computer.


In File Explorer, This PC\Documents folder contains various documents I have put there.


From the command prompt, I can navigate to c:\users\grund\Documents. grund is the first 5 characters of my Hotmail address. None of the documents visible in File Explorer Documents are visible in c:\users\grund\Documents. Why?


This is an issue when using commandline ftp.

How to change locations of Documents or Pictures to C:\Users\username\Documents or Pictures

In my new computer setup, Windows 10 set up the folders Documents and Pictures under "This PC" to C:\Users\username\OneDrive\Documents and C:\Users\username\OneDrive\Pictures. I want to set up these folders to C:\Users\username\Documents and C:\Users\username\Pictures.
I tried to change location through folder properties\location\restore default. But windows did not allow me to do it, showing an error message "Can't move the folder because there is a folder in the same location that can't be redirected. Access is denied".
How do I change the folders of Documents (Pictures) under "This PC" to
C:\Users\username\Documents (Pictures)? Thanks.

With the latest iteration windows forces me to use my OneDrive folder for my docuemnts. Even though I have a documents folder under my user settings and can see it and access at the command prompt, in windows explorer it doesn't
exist. Every time I type in c:\users\my username\documents it switches me to c:\users\my username\OneDrive\Documents\ My Kindle for pc doesn't work properly when the content is in the cloud! Help!!! I only want in the cloud what
I put in the cloud. Untill the upgrade I could differentate the two. Now I can only see and use the documents folder in One Drive folder. Like I said It is visible at the command prompt.

 

Extracting My Documents via Linux

Are you sure you're looking at the right partition? If you see Program Files and Windows folders then there is no reason that you shouldn't see the My Documents folder (which is, of course, under C*Frown or /dev/[sda1])\Documents and Settings\[Username]\My Documents).
