Windows 10: This piece of s**t rewards program asks for alias and when I put my phone number in it says...

Comp 151 dropouts could program a better rewards system then Microsoft, which is absolutely sad. But when I try to redeem a reward the 17-step authorization literally sends a code to the number I'm trying to use as an 'alias' to verify it's me, so I can't understand how such a re**rded system hasn't been fixed yet.

I want to add my cell phone number to my alias list, but keep getting the message, "This phone number is already taken. Please try another." How can I use my cell
phone number as a second alias? I have had my cell phone number for 10+ years.

I am from India and whenever I try to add my phone number to redeem Microsoft rewards a prompt shows up "This alias cannot be added to your account. Choose a different alias" There's no problem even in receiving the otp and I even tried with two different phone numbers but it still isn't working

I understand that you are trying to add you cell phone number to your alias list and you see the error "This phone number is already taken. Please try another."



Ideally, this error comes up when the phone number is already associated to a Microsoft account. We would like to know whether you have used the same number on any other Microsoft account.



However, to add an alias, we would suggest you to refer the section
I want to use a different email address or phone number to sign in from the article

Change the email address or phone number for your Microsoft account.
