This setting is managed by your administrator, cloud-based protection off and greyed out

I recently installed a few programs and later noticed there was a change in the browsers I use, chrome and edge, all my searches were redirected through an engine visible as mg.search.co. I reset both chrome and edge and removed the search engine from edge. I ran scans through hitmanpro, malwarebytes, adwcleaner , a few others and defender offline scan. They all found some files and removed, but I could not identify any of them as the culprit of the search redirects. Some of my searches still were being redirected by the unknown engine. Then i used Tronscript tool to fix anything that might be

Tamper protection managed by administrator - greyed

My concern is that tamper protection should be switchable on off within Defender and not be marked as managed by an administrator and greyed. I am not asking how to reverse the changes I have made to the one PC where i changed the registry value.

There are times when i wish to disable Defender Realtime protection which is not possible with tamper protection turned on.

As I don't sign into of my machines I cannot imagine the setting is synced at all.

Tamper protection managed by administrator - greyed

    Greetings all

I have 2 desktop's and a laptop all on 21H2 local accounts apart from apps being allowed to sign into my MS account.

My laptop is dual booting 10 and 11. i am a home user in no way linked to any domains or work / school accounts. There is no other security on my computers.

On all of my machines tamper protection is greyed and the setting is marked managed by your administrator.

On one of my desktops I have changed the Tamper reg 5 to 0 which does turn it off however it is still greyed and marked managed by administrator. i have also tried removing WD permissions.

All machines behaving the same way... Can somebody shed some light ?

SOLVED: Cloud-Delivered protection and Automatic sample submission. This setting is managed by your administrator

Hi, I cannot manage to figure out whats wrong here. In windows defender settings I cannot turn on Cloud-Delivered protection and Automatic sample submission, it says This setting is managed by your administrator. All other options I can turn on and of. imgur.com

EDIT; I solved it with help from tech support.

Go to Start > type group-policy > select Local Group Policy Editor Go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Defender Antivirus > MAPS Disable the following features: Join Microsoft MAPS Send file samples when
further analysis is required Go to C:\Program Files\Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection\SenseSampleUploader.exe > Enable Firewall profiles Restart your computer.

I couldn't get SenseSampleUploader.exe to run. But I did the former steps and restarted the computer. I then got an alert from windows defender telling me these options were off and I could enable/disable at my own digression again. Hope this fixes it for
someone if they run into the same problem This setting is managed by your administrator, cloud-based protection off and greyed out :)
