    Idk why I have this issue and I didn‘t get my PIN wrong or shutdown repeatedly. I have my PIN I know for a fact it‘s the correct one but it won‘t let me put it in??! I have waited way more than 2 hours while having left the laptop on and even ensuring ever couple minutes for it to stay on. Yet still it doesn‘t ever tell me that I have to wait less than 2 hours. IDK What i did wrong?? besides I only have my PIN as a sign in option nothing else.

    "This sign-in option is disabled because of failed sign-in attempts or repeated shutdowns" but why?

    "This sign-in option is disabled because of failed sign-in attempts or repeated shutdowns. Use a different sign-in option or keep your device powered on for at least 2 hours and then try again" This message comes up almost everytime laptop is turned on, it hasn't had incorrect pin put in or any failed sign in or repeated shutdowns. The laptop only has pin or fingerprint options to sign in and it won't allow either without waiting 2 hours which is veri impractical. Is there a way to stop this happening?

    It's an hp laptop, I think it's windows 11

    I switch on the computer and put in my pin code. I get the message ' This sign in option is disabled because of failed sign-in attempts or repeated shutdowns. Use a different sign-in option or keep your device powered on for at least two hours and then try again'. The computer uses Windows 11. I've spoken to Dell who say it is a Microsoft issue, but I don't know who to contact and the troubleshooting page on Microsoft doesn't help either. This first happened two days ago. After keeping the computer powered on for two hours I was able to sign-in. Having switched off the computer at the mains, I am now unable to sign-in again today. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
