I want a better answer to why a comment is considered bullying other than see community guidelines which do not explain the reason form blocking my comment. Many of my comments are in response to some one else that made a comment. The last of my comments was to a person using the word ewe for you and I was wondering if they also use ewer for your or was she just calling me a female sheep. that is a question not bullying???? I can not get a real reason why certain comments are blocked. Computers suck at censoring.

    Comments and the Community Guidelines

Time and time again, I'm trying to post a positive comment, and yet I'm blocked by Microsoft's community guidelines. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I'd like to know why my comments are being picked out and how I can convey my messages without being flagged by the automated system.

" fr this movie's going to be crazy and imma have a good time watching it"

This comment was disallowed for posting, saying it violated the community guidelines. After reading the Community Guidelines multiple times over, I can conclude that I have no idea what is wrong with my comment. Maybe it's the word "crazy" being ableist?

No. " fr this movie's going to be crazy awesome and imma have a good time watching it" was not allowed either.

Turns out it was the phrase "fr" meaning "for real", which blocked my comment. Removing those two letters was enough.

I have these problems posting a simple comment, and yet it doesn't work. I see people all the time who just don't have a filter. For example, on the same article, there was a comment "Useless entitled Hollywood trash." Why was this allowed? "I can't believe that ANYONE would want to see this 'movie.' Seems absolutely idiotic," was another comment that should've been at least detected by the system.

    Some more examples:

    • This is where the woke and Twitter hypnotized will tell I am just against "fun" because I see this is as unfun moronic human behavior
    • god who cares
    • failing upwards at united woke methodist.
    • I'm not interested in anything that liberal elitist is pushing.
I could keep going, but this is just in one article. None of these comments build a community. Many of these comments are blatantly hateful. Any article that is slightly political is even worse. I would just like some clarification on what exactly is allowed and what is not allowed, or I'd like to know if there are plans to add more consistency on what is or is not allowed.

Sorry. You aren't communicating with MSN here. We can't tell you why a particular comment was blocked or not blocked.

About "plans to add more consistency"

AI reportedly learns and iS teachable but there's no way to know when something resembling consistency will be achieved.

Here's my canned response on moderation. Please see, in particular, point 4.

I can't explain the moderation of comments to MSN articles, but here are some observations.

    1. You may find useful information at Microsoft News

    2. There were so many unacceptable comments that commenting was shut down for a few

    months not too long ago.

    3. Now that commenting is allowed again, moderation is very restrictive.

    4. Moderation is a dysfunctional mess. It's being done via AI, via a bot, not humans and is

    random and inexplicable.

    5. If a comment you tried to post was banned, that will be in your activity feed, and you

    can appeal that decision.

    6. I've searched but have not found a way to contact MSN staff regarding this moderation

except the Feedback link that's at the bottom of nearly every MSN webpage. If you receive

a reply to the feedback, it will be a generic reply that doesn't address your specific issue.

    MSN comments guidelines

This problem seems to affect many. If I click on a story, Microsoft (MSN) provides a place to make comments and receive comments. There are community guidelines and comments deemed offensive or that do not meet the guidelines get blocked. I'm looking for a way to show them some comments that got blocked. I've looked all over. It is probably a flawed algorithm doing the checking but might be a flawed person. I have many examples. Today a person that calls herself "CathyIsFedUP" posted a comment I thought had some incorrect information. I politely disputed the 3-4 items on her list. She politely replied back that after checking she was wrong on one point. She originally claimed Michelle Obama stole stuff from the White House. In her reply she said it was actually Hilliary Clinton that stole things when Bill Clinton was leaving office. I tried to reply back -

"That makes more sense. I never cared for the politics of the Clintons or Obama, but I felt the Obamas at the personal level were more honorable"

That (my) comment was blocked for not meeting community guidelines.

Maybe I'm nuts. Does anybody else think my comment is offensive? Cathy and I had about the friendliest exchange between people in an article related to politics. There is a big issue in our country about big tech companies stifling free speech. I'd hate to see Microsoft get dragged into it for blocking comments like this. On the plus side, most on the right think Microsoft and MSN is a mouthpiece for the left. Blocking me saying something nice about Obama might help you prove them wrong!

Again, this is probably the wrong place for this question, but I dare any of you to try contacting Microsoft or MSN about anything to do with their posting guidelines thru the pages and links they provide. You just go around in dead end circles.
