Windows 10: Thoughts on helping elderly, impaired, or technophobic

I am sure others have dealt with folks who are - challenged when coping with computers and software.One elderly friend has limited vision and mobility, and tries to use his laptop while in bed. We connected the laptop to mirror its screen to a TV.That helps - and I finally adjusted his mouse settings so he can see the cursor more easily.Frustrating because he was an early mentor for me, and to see him struggle with these things - not fun.Stuff that seems to help:Mouse cursor visibilityText size on screen - but don't enlarge too much because interface/controls may go off screen.And - when stuff

Windows 10 for Visually impaired

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

As per the issue description your girlfriend is visually impaired and can't see the icons and you want black color as the background color. Here are the steps which might help you to fix the issue.

• Press Windows key + X.
• Select Control Panel from the list.
• Select large icons under view by option.
• Click on personalize.
• Select any of the theme under High Contrast theme as per your interest.

In order to enlarge the taskbar icons you may refer to the steps provided below and see if it helps.

• Right click on the task bar.
• Click on Properties.
• Uncheck the box stating "Use small taskbar buttons" under taskbar tab.

Let's stick to one topic and leave the emotional stuff aside. To print a picture from anywhere, do this:

1. Create a desktop shortcut for snippingtool.exe.
2. Drag it onto the Task Bar so that it is always easily accessible.
3. Click it on the Task Bar to open it.
4. Use your mouse to draw a frame around any screen area.
5. Click File, then Print.

Step 4 depends a bit on your version of Windows (which you did not state).

 

Free games for elderly woman [Help!]

its a PC i'm selling today, (in about an hour) so i wont have any chances to install games after now.

Thanks to those who linked to suggestions or directly named games, didnt really find much in the way of 'elderly entertainment'
