  1. Thousands of errors piling up in Service Host: Windows Event log - 95-100% disk usage

Hi there, starting some time this morning, my desktop PC slowed to a crawl. Upon checking task manager, I noticed that a process "Service Host: Windows Event Log" was using between 90-100% of my disk constantly. Checking for updates as well as a basic restart changed nothing. Upon following other possibilities from Microsoft forums, Event Viewer is showing tens of thousands of errors being produced, multiple per second, primarily in the Administrative Events section. This has been going on throughout the day, with no stopping. All of them produce the same error/error code. A sample xml report f

Disk usage 100% constantly.. "Service Host: Windows Event Log" seems to be the culprit.

Recently, my disk usage has constantly been at 100% in Task Manager. Computer is generally decent, but is slow to open everything. I re-sorted the list and saw that a process called "Service Host: Windows Event Log" was hogging a lot of
    resources.

    Like.. a lot.

I'm not completely stupid when it comes to using technology, so I popped open the Event Viewer to see what was up. In the
Application log, I'm constantly getting an "Information" event with the
event ID of 1001. It fills up almost all the log.

The details from this event are as follows:

    Code:

7024 Details: "The WMIs service terminated with the following service-specific error: The system cannot find the path specified."

After digging around the Application log some more, it seems that I'm missing a "wlanext.exe". However, DISM and SFC don't notice this, so what am I supposed to do?
