Windows 10: Thread stuck in device driver when using Affinity Photo

Afternoon folks

I updated my Affinity Photo software the other day to their new version 1.9.All went well with the update and was working ok afterwards.Now a couple of days later when opening Affinity i get the message appear as per the attached screenshot.First time today it happened and the laptop started ok.Second time it did not so had to switch of with the er big button.It then restarted ok.Anyone know what would cause this.Have contacted Affinity also and currently awaiting a reply.Thanks in advance for any help received.

Run Hardware and Device troubleshooter by following the steps below, and check if the issue is resolved.

Step 1: Type Troubleshooter in the search bar next to
Start icon, press Enter.

Step 2: Select View all from the left side panel, and click on
Hardware and Devices option.

Step 3: Follow the onscreen instructions.

Thread Stuck in Driver

We appreciate that you have provided us the troubleshooting steps that you have done already. We can provide you other troubleshooting steps that can help to resolve the issue regarding the Thread Stuck in Driver error.

The Thread Stuck In Device Driver error is caused by a driver file being caught in an endless loop while it waits for the hardware to enter idle state. Performing a series of updates will usually resolve this issue and since you have updated your motherboard
BIOS as well as the graphics and audio drivers, you can perform the Windows updates. Here's how:

• Open Start Menu and click on Settings >
  Update & Security settings > Windows Update.
• Click on the Check for updates button.
• If any updates are available, they will be offered to you.

Affinity Photo Reinstall

Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Follow the below mentioned steps to install Affinity Photo:

1. Open the Windows Store app from the Start menu.

2. Sign in with the Microsoft account through which you made the purchase.

3. Search for Affinity Photo in the search bar.

4. Select the Affinity photo application from the search result.

5. Click on Install button to install the application.
