Windows 10: Threat Blocked but still see file and cant remove from Window Security.

Hello I was alerted to a severe threat from windows for a bad download that had a trojan. Windows says the threat is 'Removed' and it does not reappear after any scan, full, Quick, Custom, Or Full Offline. Yet i can still see the zip file and cant remove it by any means Command Prompt, PowerShell, File Shredder. Only option is 'Allow' from windows security and any attempt to remove with various means fails. Currently cant access in any way, cant delete, as file not found or restricted get both of these warning. While it says location is pictures its not located there even with hidden fil

In Windows Security what happens if you click on "Threat Blocked" ?

Generally Speaking, When you click on “Threat Blocked” in Windows Security, This indicates that Defender has blocked and removed a threat on your device. There's no action necessary on your part, though you might want to consider how the threat reached your machine so you can reduce the risk of that occurring again. Common ways a threat might arrive include as an unsafe attachment in email, downloaded from an unsafe web site, or via an infected USB storage device.

If you believe this to be a "false positive" and that the file is safe you can select Actions and then choose Allow. This threat has already been removed, so Allow only applies to the next time we see this file. You'll need to redownload the file if you want to use it, it will show you the details of the threat that was blocked and quarantined. You can then choose to remove the threat from your device if you want to.

I cannot clean or remove threats in windows security

I cannot remove threats from windows security.

Click on security app

threats

start actions

list of threats

click on each of them

clean threat-nothing

remove threat-nothing

quarenteen-nothing

several threats say hosts file type threats that are ACTIVE

can spybot programme create such threats?

thats the only programme associated with computer?

I CANNOT REMOVE them

WINDOWS DEFENDER IS NOT REMOVING THREATS

Hello PaulPChou,

This one works. You're correct I chose removed but it just doesn't remove the threats it says working and after working the threats are still listed. I ran the safety scanner, reboot, scan in safe mode, scan in clean boot but neither of those works to remove
the listed threats.

Just as I thought all I need is to manually delete the file where it contains the threats list just like a log file.
