three key 8.1 app features missing from 10 email app

    * Select all . I think I know why this happened (converging the desktop and mobile interfaces, and reflecting the bias against select all in mobile email apps) -- but it still dramatically impairs app functionality. Mystifying that MS would not recognize this as a permitted variance between desktop and mobile, given that it forces people who have to manage large amounts of email (i.e., everyone) back to browser interfaces.

    * Ability to switch the replying account / email address of an email to that of a different account from the one to which sent. This is a powerful feature of Outlook and was a welcome addition to 8.1 mail app; no idea why it went away. (Very useful for shifting conversation threads that are non-business to personal account, and vice versa).

    * One step switch between accounts

    :)

  2. Changing default email program

I have windows 10 and would prefer to use gmail for my email. How do I change this. When I try to do it in settings/system/default/mail the only option I get are mail and other apps. Clicking on other apps only gives me an option to get three apps from the
app store. What have I missed

    Organize Mail in Windows 10

I don't understand why these responders are not answering the questions. Instead the responder just post a link to refer to, which does not solve the problem. The issue is productivity. windows 10 mail has made using it as the mail
app less productive in comparison to mail in windows 8.1. There is no way to organize mail, create folders or favorites for specific email recipients. For example, when my Territory or market manager would email me I was able to have a folder that ONLY contained
emails from them. It made it easier to sort throouh emails that were not as important. The ability to do this is gone. Now in order to do this I have to go to the web app create a bunch of rules and sync them with my windows mail app on my surface. I can't
believe the developers thought this was a positive thing. This is a productivity app. why would features be removed to make the user less productive. This forced me to download a third party mail app to use. I could use Outlook which is a fantastic app. However,
I don't need something that feature rich. Mail in windows 8.1 was the killer app that cause me to purchase a surface pro three.

Agree 100% with all of the above and I'll add the most important for me... Get the Win 10 mail app to actually sync with exchange servers. It worked on 8.1 and it works with every other mail app I've tested except for this one. (And I've tried every suggested fix I can find on the internet—nothing works.)

Outlook 2010 works fine on this system so that's what I'm forced to use.
