    Outlook Stuck on Send/Receive

    @bartjunited
I have one troubleshooting suggestion for you, but it's slightly advanced method to determine a problem, since you so far found no solution it might help you identify a problem.

    Step 1:
    Download process monitor: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sy...nloads/procmon

    Step 2:
Download my custom configuration for process monitor, find it in attachment

    Step 3:
Extract archive to your Desktop or some other convenient location

    Step 4:
    Run process monitor as Administrator

    Step 5:
Click on File -> Import Configuration menu and import the file from extracted archive called ProcmonConfiguration.pmc

    Step 6:
Click on Filters -> Filter... menu and in a window that appears unckheck "TCP Receive" option and click OK

    Step 7:
Run outlook to be ready to troubleshoot it

    Step 8:
In process monitor click on red "trash bin" icon to clear all contents in process monitor

    Step 9:
In office click on "send\receive" to start mail syncronization

    Step 10:
In process monitor you'll see Cyan colored lines which indicate failed or closed connection or disconnection.
In the output you care only about outlook program (ignore the rest), specifically those ports which you configured for your mail in question
Make sure that for each such cyan line there is corresponding "TCP Receive" for outlook program

If there is no matching "TCP receive" this mean you identified a problem which is that outlook fails to communicate with google for given mail configuration.

If that's the case your next step is to reconfigure mail configuration and try again troubleshoot it.
You'll know your modification to mail configuration works when you see coresponding TCP receive operation.

  3. How Do I Interpret the Throughput Value on Task Manager Ethernet Graph

Task Manager on the Performance tab / Ethernet selected shows a Throughput value. This is at the top right corner of the box containing the moving graph. At idle I a Throughput of 100Kbps. My link speed is 1Gbps as shown by the LEDs on the NIC card. When
I right click the Ethernet graph and select Network Details the Link Speed is 1Gbps and Network Utilization of 0%.

So what is the meaning of the Throughput number at 100kbps? I can see small spikes on the graph about every 1 second. The Receive number in the lower corner shows 16kbps flashing about once a second. So clearly there is little network traffic. I assume Utilization
is 0% because very few bits are being received every 1 second and it appears nothing is being sent. So my question about the Throughput number. Is it simply the vertical scale of the Graph? If that is so then calling it Throughput is misleading.

What does the Throughput number represent and how is it calculated?

Slow network throughput on windows 10

This seemed to work for me:

    Disabling “Large Send Offload (LSO)”

Large Send Offload is a technique of improving network performance while at the same time reducing CPU overhead. Apparently it does not work very well, so it was suggested to disable it. If you would like to know about LSO, check this MSDN article from 2001 (Task Offload (NDIS 5.1) (Windows Drivers)).

LSO is an option located in a Device Manager under your network adapter, so this solution requires Administrator Privileges.

    Follow these steps:
1.Open Start Menu, right-click on Computer and select Properties
2.Under Control Panel Home located on the left side of the window click on Device Manager
3.You will get a list of all devices on your machine. Expand Network Adapters.
4.Find your Network Card and double-click on it.
5.Select Advanced tab. You will get a list filled with different options.
6.Select Large Send Offload V2 (IPv4) and set the value to Disabled
7.Do the same for Large Send Offload V2 (IPv6) if it is available
    8.Click OK

After clicking OK, tried to send a file over the LAN network. Transfer speed started very slow, but it was gradually picking up speed. Decided to restart the computer and try to send that file again and this time it worked like a charm.

Now that sending of files worked as it should, also checked speed for receiving files. It turned out that it was still slow but all that was needed to fix was to disable Large Send Offload V2 on the other computer. Once done, problem was solved for receiving files as well.

Hope this works for you guys / girls
