Windows 10: Thumbnail images in folder in new Windows 11 are unacceptably small when set to "Extra Large"

I have this issue with my new laptop running Windows 11. The photo images in folder are ridiculously small and have a lot of space around them. I have two laptops, both have 15" screens, both high end HP laptops. When the thumbnails setting is set to Extra large on each, the old one running Windows 10 has in-folder images approx 3" wide for a landscape image. The new one running Windows 11 shows the same folder, same images approx 1.5" wide.~Alan

Larger than "Extra Large" image thumbnails without lower resolution??

Is it possible to make image thumbnails within a folder larger than the "extra large" option without lowering the screen resolution?

I'm a designer and constantly sifting through folders of dozens of images. With my new Surface Book the resolution is so high that the "Extra Large" image thumbnails are too small. On my last laptop the images would get so big that only 3-4 would fit horizontally in the window. Now 9-10 are packed in the same viewing area.

after most of my previous problems have been resolved the thumbnails still seem to be somewhat not working.

Whenever I choose large or extra large thumbnails in the View option of the explorer they are not shown or they are only shown until I refresh / close the folder once.





I already cleared the thumbnail cache in every method possible and also disabled "Always show icons, never thumbnails". Any idea what could be the cause of this?

Funny thing is that in some of the folders, a couple of the files are showing their thumbnail image while the rest are only showing the icon when I attempt to change to Large or Extra-Large view setting.
