  1. Thumbnail support for Adobe Applications and file formats such as .svg within Windows Explorer

Thumbnail previews are essential. Creative's are still waiting for this simple feature that has been available on Macs for years.

I understand and have tried workarounds all of which are clunky and time consuming. When working through Google Chrome on my companies cloud application, I can see I can see .PSD and .SVG image previews but not .AI, .IND, .PDF or MSO applications. Adobe Bridge takes forever to cache. Bridge stops responding. I'm constantly force quitting the program with Task Manager. What's also difficult is being limited to short file names. Less description, less likely I'm going to recall what the image is without constantly opening all of them up to cache.

I've heard of SageThumbs. https://sourceforge.net/projects/sagethumbs/reviews who's creator is n.raspopov https://sourceforge.net/u/raspopov/profile/ While I'm sure he's a good upstanding person in the community, I work for the government. There's no way I'd be allowed to install this.

    Any thoughts from Microsoft?

    :)

Thumbnail support for Adobe Applications within Windows Explorer

The OP doesn't want icons, they want to see thumbnails showing an image of the document contents for all the Adobe file types listed.

There is an option in File Explorer that allows icons to change in thumbnail view in Windows 10. To enable thumbnail view, follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows + E to open File Explorer.
    • Click the View tab of File Explorer.
    • Click Options.
    • In the Folder Options, click the View tab.
    • Make sure that the Display file icon on thumbnails checkbox were enabled.
Let us know if you can now view Adobe program icons.

The application that needs changing is Adobe Reader. The settings can be changed on this application not on Windows Explorer. To enable the thumbnails preview, follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows + S to open Search Box.
    • Type Adobe Reader, then click it.
    • Click Edit to expand it.
    • Click Preferences.
    • Click General in the left pane.
    • Tick the Enable PDF thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer.
    • Check your PDFs in your folder if you can now see previews.
