    Thumbnails only .png and some icons on taskbar stop showing Windows 10


    Thumbnails of .png files and some icons on taskbar Calculator, Settings, Photo Viewer etc stopped appearing but with .jpg thumbnails everething is fineI suspect that the reason is my messing with registryI tried:Changing explorer's view settings related to thumbnailsClearing system's thumbnail cacheDeleting %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer\thumbcache_*.db filesAlso I tried to compare my registry keys related to ".png" with stable instance of Win 10 Through VM in attempt to fix them but with no luckThumbnails problem: Taskbar icons problem:

    How to always show taskbar thumbnail previews?

    Hello dismas, *Smile

    This would be from the taskbar threshold limit to show a list instead of thumbnails. You can change the threshold limit using the tutorial below to increase it. Setting it to "0" (zero) will always show thumbnails.

    Taskbar Thumbnail Previews

    Thank you Brink, before I go into that, will deleting the thumbnail cache help ? A few links on the web say it may.
    I have not done anything, the thumbnails just stopped showing.
