Windows 10: Thunderbird Mail Opens Minimized From Start Menu And Cannot Be Resized

I have Thunderbird Mail set to open on Start Up, and it has done so successfully for years. Recently, it opens minimized to the the task bar, but clicking on it to resize it (which was not previously necessary) just results in it "shooting" to the upper left corner of my screen and disappearing -- no way to resize it. I can sometimes open it maximized, but it will not let me resize it in any fashion.


To actually be able to open Thunderbird, I have to close the icon on the task bar and click on the Thunderbird icon on my desk top. That opens the program in a small (approximately 2" x 3") window which I can then stretch to resize as normal. Everything will work fine until I restart my computer the next morning. While this is a work around, it is not satisfactory.


I am using Windows 10 Pro Ver 1803 on a Dell Inspiron 3668. Thunderbird is Version 64.4.0 (32 bit).

How to actually start program minimized in Windows 10?

Steps i tried to make program (for example: Thunderbird) to load on startup, but minimized:

1. Placed shortcut under: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
   
2. In a shortcut properties i've checked "minimized"
   

Rebooted windows, it does start, but MAXIMIZED! Can't make it minimized, just like on MacOS i could set it hidden.
